This can involve working on a single piece of content or on the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goal. As a content designer, you will use evidence from data and real user insight to create or update various pieces of content across a variety of digital and offline channels. You will put users first and work with project stakeholders to manage competing priorities between user and business needs. In this role you will work in an Agile team to ideate, iterate and refine content that provides the best user experience.

Design tailored content that meets users’ needs and enables them to achieve what they need to do.
Take complex information and make it easier for users to understand.
Collaborate with service designers, user researchers and interaction designers to map out the easiest user journeys and understand what works and what doesn’t.
Make sure appropriate content is shown to users in the right place in the best format.
Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure content is factually correct.
Develop content concepts in appropriate ways, from paper sketches to digital blueprints and coded prototypes.
Iterate designs based on user feedback and understand when a user need is met.
Visualise your proposals and use strong communication skills to engage project stakeholders and promote Government Digital Service standard content.
Build strong relationships with your Agile team to move designs from concept to build.
