From the moment you start your training contract, you’ll have immense direct and indirect support. From the HR team and Partners to supervisors who have been through the process themselves – we recognise that quality training and supervision is the key to getting the most from your training period.
We offer between 12-18 training contracts annually and always recruit trainees two years in advance of their start date. Your four rotations will include seats in our Hong Kong offices practice areas of Corporate, Finance, L&DR and Capital Markets. In addition to this, there are opportunities for international secondments, allowing you to gain real insight into how our cross-border collaboration contributes to our success.
If your online written application is successful you will take part in a series of assessments that include a video interview, assessment centre and panel interview.
Applications for the direct training contract route will close on 30 April 2021.
Please note that if you have already applied for a 2021 Vacation Scheme at our Hong Kong office, there is no need to submit an application to this role. Vacation Scheme applicants are automatically considered for a training contract.
You will need to exhibit ambition, drive and commitment as well as strong interpersonal skills and commerciality. In addition to these attributes we ask that applicants meet the following requirements:
- A consistently strong academic record.
- The ability to speak Mandarin or a Chinese dialect, and to read and write Chinese is preferable.
- A law or combined degree from a university in Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or England which will enable you to begin a Hong Kong training contract when you have completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL)*. Applications from non-law graduates who have taken the Graduate Diploma in Law (Common Professional Examination) are also welcome.
