Who you will work with
Our experienced Employment Team works with clients from a wide range of sectors to address local
and cross-border issues.
We not only cover the traditional areas of Employment law that many firms focus on, but also more specialist areas that are increasingly relevant in the current financial climate, such as remuneration reform, regulatory investigations and corporate governance.
Clients, ranging from global businesses to small enterprises, have come to trust and rely on the experience of our dedicated teams based across our network of offices. To help clients keep on top of the risks and opportunities arising from changes in the law, we track and anticipate the latest legislative proposals in the jurisdictions that are important to their business.
What you will do
You will be given the chance to handle a variety of work and you will closely collaborate with
our Employment lawyers and clients.

- Transactional (such as employment aspects of M&A, outsourcings, relocations and restructurings)
- Corporate Governance
- Employee incentives
How we will support you
From your first day with us, you will have varied opportunities to continuously grow and development your skills and knowledge. From formal training, informal coaching and mentoring through to skills-based and technical training and on the job learning
About the Firm and the Italy Offices
We were one of the first international law firms to open offices in Italy – Rome in 1993 and Milan in 1994. We know the Italian market well and have long experience of cross-border deals.
We have invested in our Italian offices and we are now one of the few firms who can offer clients a full-service capability. Our team of approximately 100 lawyers comprises professionals qualified to practice in Italy, the UK, and the US and all our lawyers are permanently based in Italy.
Our firm, work and people span jurisdictions, cultures and languages. In a world where commercial success increasingly relies on globalisation, we offer clients a truly international perspective.
Over the last decades we have been working on a number of landmark deals and high-profile cases – among them in 1990s the privatisations of Banca di Roma, BNL, Alitalia and Autostrade. These transactions and our way of working – teams of lawyers led by highly-experienced partners – helped to change the landscape of the Italian legal market.
At Clifford Chance we understand that our true asset is our people. Inclusion is good for our team and their families, our firm and society.
We are committed to treating all employees, Fee Earners and applicants fairly and equally regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, race, colour, national or ethnic origin, social or economic background, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation, or age. This applies to recruitment and selection, terms and conditions of employment including pay, promotion, training, transfer and every other aspect of employment.
Our goal is to deliver an equality of opportunity, an equality of aspiration and an equality of experience to everyone who works in our firm.
