FP&A Ad Sales Manager

Currently in Poland we are looking for passionate people with various backgrounds to join our team in the fields of FP&A Centre of Excellence, Global Business Services, HR Services and Media Business.

Position Summary

As the Ad Sales FP&A Manager, you manage one of the domains within the CoE which offers you a great opportunity to participate in the overall finance transformation roadmap setting standards for the financial processes related to ad sales revenue management covering EMEA / APAC / LATAM markets with ~$1.5Bn annual revenue.
Your main responsibility is to ensure proactive and timely high-quality reporting and analysis in the ad sales revenue domain. You will manage a team of analysts and you ensure deep knowledge and competencies are developed within the team to provide business stakeholders with required information to make educated decisions.

Key responsibilities:

1. Driving Commercial Insights and Analysis
  • Lead commercial analyses on ad sales questions across markets, to improve understanding, identify opportunities and feed into broader strategic questions
  • Responsible for development of standard SMT reporting with pacing and ad sales KPIs to highlight important trends, events or unusual based on internal and external revenue drivers that require SMT attention
  • Generate insights on current ad sales questions, opportunities and challenges
  • Manage ad hoc strategic and commercial financial requests i.e. preparing business plans, financial models and scenario analysis for situations including potential new channel launches or ceases, M&A
  • Research and analyze market, client and buying trends that shape the external media marketplace and understand their relevance to Discovery

2. Providing core FP&A cycle activities local teams
  • Support month end close activities related to accruals/deferrals of ad sales revenue and related costs and validation of actual results in the system
  • Provide variance analysis to explain actual and forecasted performance of markets/regions vs prior year/plan/prior forecast
  • Support forecasts/budgets development for managed markets by working with commercial team to review and validate their bottom's up, providing assessment and recommendations of revenue drivers to local finance directors

3. Preparation of Materials and Communications to different levels of stakeholders
  • Craft concise, insightful materials to communicate key facts, stories and results to a senior management and regional market audience
  • Develop presentations for senior management meetings such as budget presentations, forecast updates, board of directors or finance committee meeting
  • Determine internal forums to share information on a regular basis across Finance and Commercial team

Key Responsibilities

4. Develop team of financial analysts supporting ad sales
  • • Lead and coach group of analysts to provide high quality support to their stakeholders
  • • Understand team development plans and work with them to address their gaps by experience, networking, training activities

5. Ad hoc Operational and Commercial Projects
  • Drive simplification projects to improve efficiency in working in FP&A ad sales area (ie. forecast modelling automation, creation of global ad sales Datawarehouse reporting)
  • Assist the business partners, central and regional teams with ad sales related projects
  • Collaborate across boundaries, share best practice working with different teams
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of different ad markets in each region
  • Establish helpful productive relationships with key contacts in HQ and across the regions to encourage the flow of information and share knowledge


  • 5+ years experience preferably in Commercial Finance or FP&A finance functions
  • CIMA or equivalent would be preferred
  • Knowledge of media ad sales markets and dynamics of key metrics impacting revenue would be preferred
  • Be able to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure while showing excellent attention to detail
  • Experience to lead, coach and develop team
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with proven record of effectively presenting to both senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with proven ability to distil complex findings into a 'story' with actionable findings to support commercial decision making
  • Proficient in development of financial models
  • Advanced Excel skills is must
  • Experience in using EPM solution such as SAP BPC, Hyperion, Cognos, OneStream
