Position Overview:

Reporting into the Group VP Digital FP&A, the Senior Director International Digital Financial & Strategic Insights will be responsible for leading international Discovery+ expansion plans and areas of investment, across the digital portfolio from an FP&A perspective delivering insights and analytics for senior management and operating decision makers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the Digital FP&A Financial & Strategic Insights team of approx. 3-4 employees
  • Support and develop the Digital FP&A Financial & Strategic Insights team to build and design robust modelling tools, analysis and BI suites
  • Partner with business leads to identify key performance metrics and reporting needs
  • Working with the CFO Digital, SVP DTC Growth Strategy and senior management team, create and model the strategy for the international business (e.g. Discovery+ expansion case), based on detailed analysis and benchmarking data
  • Build strong network within DNI and lead multi-functional teams, across multiple geographies (e.g. coordinating JV business case development)
  • As a strategic finance business partner, review and challenge business plans, provide input and present recommendations to the senior management team
  • Lead strategic core initiatives such as M&A projects (e.g. strategic JV investments) from a FP&A perspective and represent FP&A in steering committee's
  • Serve as single point of contact to the operations and strategy team for financial planning and analysis
  • Continuous analysis of performance metrics with focus on generating actionable insights and improvements


Requirements

  • A background in digital media or consumer product preferred
  • Experience working with DTC business models
  • Experience with subscription/advertising-based business models, especially in media, is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrable experience of managing and coaching a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrix environment with quickly evolving, often uncertain, business goals
  • Ability to confidently and concisely present information to senior stakeholders and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships and networks at all levels
  • Highly analytical background
  • Pro-active self-starter, who uses their own initiative
  • Excellent academic qualifications, with a degree in a numeric or business-related field, as well as 8+ years of work experience
