The Marketing Manager will have the opportunity to own all aspects of campaign management – from strategic development, to briefing, to execution & optimization – along with having oversight over incentives and promotional planning. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. They will be expected to change direction and pivoting quickly to respond to business demands. They will partner closely with cross-functional planners and subject matter specialists to concept and deploy strategic campaigns, both with owned and paid channels, and buyer & seller promotional activities to drive awareness and engagement on eBay.
Develop & execute coordinated marketing strategies for owned and paid channels around key retail events & priority categories to drive incremental sales, retain current customers, and acquire new (and reactivated) customers.
Own the master Marketing calendar to direct campaign activities and support the communication and coordination with cross-functional partners.
Work closely across the North American Marketing team to align programs and develop creative assets localized for the Canadian market.
Plan and support execution of paid marketing channels (paid search, affiliates & display) with our internal performance teams and external media agency.
Support the development & execution of any customer incentives & promotions to ensure the achievement of overall business objectives.
Set overall campaign objectives, track results, and optimize programs to reach desired business goals.
Lead, coach & mentor two direct reports who help oversee campaign management & promotional programs.
Manage components of the Marketing budget, invoicing & approval process.
Consumer marketing experience in ecommerce, peer-to-peer marketplaces, or start-up environment.
Experience in different marketing subject areas with a proven track record of rapidly accelerating growth across multiple channels.
Solid experience in digital marketing including email and onsite, paid marketing and social media; ability to use data to develop insights for program optimization and investment decision-making.
Data-driven problem-solver with a track record of delivering results in sophisticated environments
Execution-driven mentality, managing performance against established KPIs.
Strong communication and partner leadership skills – able to work across matrixed global environments to develop collaborative partnerships and deliver results.
Strong sense of ownership to drive marketing campaign development with relative autonomy and efficiency.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and driving clarity/action independently.
Passionate about helping Canadian small businesses succeed.
Education & Experience
5-7 years of experience in marketing leadership roles; previous experience working in an e-commerce business is a plus.
