About the team:

Our customers use our platform mostly on their mobile devices, generating over 65.000 requests per second on our backend systems at peak times. Our mobile apps are among the top 10 best apps of Germany and are installed on over 25 million active Android and iOS devices. Our Android tech-stack is mainly built with Kotlin, MVP architecture with meaningful additions from architecture components and unit & integration tests. We are working in an agile environment which allows us to discover, deliver and improve continuously.

We are seeking a professional individual to join our team as a Senior Android Developer (d/f/m) who will help us build customer value through the design, development and delivery of a native app that our customers love.

The role:

  • Build the technology future of online classifieds in a scalable, clean way

  • Improve our Android app to make it better every day

  • Ensure code quality and maintainability by improving build and test systems

  • Be involved in the whole development lifecycle from architecture to QA and publishing

  • Drive your own ideas for code and process improvements and achieve the next level together with the team

  • Partner closely with our product and UX specialists to continuously improve our app

  • Research and prototype solutions to exciting problems

What we are looking for:

  • At least 3 years of professional Android app development experience

  • Passion for Android development, beautiful, pragmatic code and an eye for simplicity

  • Excellent knowledge and strong experience with the Android platform (Activities, Fragments, Services, Content Providers)

  • Excellent programming skills in Kotlin (experience with Java is a plus)

  • Deep understanding of architectural patterns for Android projects

  • Experience in building test driven mobile environments, e.g. experience with JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso

  • Real life reference or open source projects are a huge plus (GitHub / Bitbucket / StackOverflow Account)

  • Effective written and spoken communication skills in English
