About the team:

The Brand team at eBay is responsible for all brand strategy, ATL campaigns and creative expression within AU. We work closely with creative and media agencies to shift consumer perception of eBay, and help our buyers find their version of 'perfect' from our best sellers. We are an upbeat group of marketing professionals passionate about making a positive difference for our customers.

About the opportunity:

We are seeking someone to lead our Creative, Media and Brand Strategy from brand health metrics in market, to customer acquisition and joining eBay Plus - our subscription shopping program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing the AU region's brand strategies and campaigns based on deep customer insights, including representing AU in global brand projects.

  • Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of all paid marketing campaigns in AU via agencies and in-house teams.

  • Owning AU creative, playing brand guardian and leading our in-house creative agency.

  • Working closely with the insights & analytics team to ensure all activity is measured and optimised for greater ROI.

  • Collaborating with outstanding global product and marketing teams our visions to life

  • The scope of this role is significant and includes leading the region's paid marketing activity, including ATL channels such as TV, OOH, Radio, Digital and Performance.

  • Leading a team of dedicated marketing professionals to execute our strategies

About you:

We are looking for a marketing leader who can lead and inspire an in-house marketing team whilst also able to roll up their sleeves and make things happen. Strong candidates will have outstanding creative and communication skills. They navigate easily across functions to make an impact, enjoy fast paced environments and are comfortable operating in ambiguity. Key qualifications and attributes include:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a similar field

  • Leading teams and creating inspiring and high performance environments.

  • Managing from brand strategy through execution across multi-channel marketing campaigns and/or product and support experiences.

  • Owning digital performance marketing channels.

  • Engaging, inspiring, educating and collaborating across internal functions.

  • Experience working with (or within) agencies on brand-building projects

  • Partnering with Insights team to translate data into impactful steps to achieve business objectives.

  • Managing significant marketing budgets.

  • 10+ years commercial experience in a similar / relevant industry or role

  • Creative and commercially-minded; comes up with novel ways to identify and capture big opportunities.

  • A strong bias for action; capable of making great things happen quickly
