This role is based in Austin TX but we are able hire candidates that are within commuting range to Austin where you can travel to the office occasionally.
The Customer Service Technologies (CSTech) group supports a technology suite that is essential to our delivering a flawless customer support experience. The Teammate Tools team supports all the applications that are used by our Contact Center agents to access all information and tackle customer problems in real time. A smooth and highly efficient user experience, underpinned by capabilities like automation and AI, is key to enabling agents solving problems rapidly.
We are embarking on a critical transformation to shift from a legacy tech stack to a microservices supported, web-based solution. We’re looking to hire an enterprise architect with experience in the entire web stack, who will play a pivotal role in providing technical leadership for this effort.
Use established and new design patterns to build robust, modular, scalable technical designs that address requirements provided by the Product Team
Own and drive technology solutioning for teammate tools, collaborating with other architects and team members as appropriate to craft solution proposals
Present solutions to the team - including to senior leaders - build consensus and get the team aligned to the right options.
Collaborate with and guide engineers to ensure designs are successfully executed
Maintain appropriate technical and business documentation
Continuously stay informed on industry direction, incorporate relevant patterns into solutioning
Code solutions if/when needed
Mentor other team members as required
Deep experience across all layers of the web application stack – frontend, middleware, backend.
Deep experience in HTML 5, CSS, responsive design
Advanced knowledge of core web technologies and concepts (HTTP, DNS, REST/JSON, OAuth)
Advanced understanding of design, implementation and operation of enterprise micro services and APIs, in a highly secure, enterprise environment
Deep experience architecting middleware using Java or other comparable technologies
Experience working in a DevOps environment, strong understanding of CI tooling (TeamCity, Jenkins), various forms of automated testing – unit, integration and more
Passion for agile software development, product discovery and continuous delivery
High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism
Strong communication and other soft skills that help in dealing with people
Effective oral and written communication skills
What We Look For:
Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Computer Science major or equivalent experience
Experience in handling multiple simultaneous, shifting priorities
Experience in working with globally distributed teams across numerous time zones
Experience in effectively engaging with multiple, including senior layers of organization
