About the team:
Core Technology (CT) is a global team responsible for the end-to-end eBay technology platform. This platform runs our entire infrastructure and all the services that come together to form ebay.com.
We are building a state of the art cloud and application management platform leveraging kubernetes, istio, prometheus and many other cloud native technologies that works at web scale to serve our large developer community. As part of this we are also building intuitive and powerful user experiences - web portal, native applications, etc. so that our developer community can build, ship, run and manage software and dependencies with ease. Cloud is complex - and we believe UX plays and enormous role in making it simple and manageable for the users in taming its complexity. We are looking for practitioners of who can bring in human/computer interactions to the next level and build some compelling experiences.
Developer productivity is increased as information is available and presented nicely and easily , ability to discover services and effortlessly consume them as the cloud portal brings different services all in one place to improve the efficiency of all developers - a 20 % improvement in efficiency for a 3000 developers is equivalent to hiring additional 600 developers
What you will be doing:
Design and develop simple, intuitive and functional experience for our users for consuming services on our cloud platform with a focus on application management on the cloud.
Design and develop operational tools that bring complex and huge operational data and business processes and domain models in an intuitive way. These tools would be used by the operational teams in managing infrastructure assets, networking, traffic management and other aspects.
Develop web components and required backend services.
Ability to think out of the box for crafting UI interfaces that makes the sophisticated cloud domain and application management on them easy for the end users.
You will present your work in weekly reviews and make your voice heard. Support product leads and eloquent design decisions to product partners and leadership.
You will work with UX designers, product owners and other engineering team members to design the outstanding product for our platform and its end users.
You will collaborate with our documentation team in building and refining our user facing guides and instructions.
What you bring:
Deep understanding of web languages, technologies, principles and trends, and a passion for designing applications with the end user in mind.
Prior experience crafting products that are well designed and meet end user needs is a must.
The ideal candidate is someone who is an expert in user experience technologies on web (react, ant design) and native platforms (electron, react native, flutter) with experience building compelling and dynamic product user interfaces that handles data from various API endpoints and is able to intuitively present it to the user.
Experience with graph visualizations, data widgets and visualizations (e.g. d3js), single page navigation apps, REST/GRPC services, GraphQ, etc,. IDE integrations are highly desired.
