Director - Economic Advisory (Health Sciences and Wellness) - London

The opportunity

Ernst and Young's Economic Advisory team is a part of our Valuation, Modelling and Economics practice and is made up of c. 45 professionals working across multiple sectors.

Health Sciences and Wellness is a core sector for the team both in terms of our current portfolio of work and future growth strategy.

We are seeking to appoint a Director to help us grow the practice, with particular focus on areas such as:

• Economic evaluation of healthcare interventions

• Regulatory and economic diligence for life sciences and private health transactions

• Quantitative analysis and forecasting (e.g. determinants of demand for health and care services, demand projections, price elasticities for privately provided products and services)

• Health economics (e.g. cost benefit analysis, cost effectiveness, Markov modelling)

For the right candidate this role offers significant opportunity for growth and progression.

Your key responsibilities
  • Business development - bringing with you and/or developing a network of contacts in the healthcare or life sciences market
  • Sales - leading the development of competitive and non-competitive bids
  • Developing a strong internal network with health and life sciences teams in other parts of EY
  • Leading projects with minimal oversight
  • Reviewing and quality assuring the work of junior staff
  • Making a contribution to the wider practice

The successful candidate will be comfortable in a largely horizonal structure, managing upwards as well as downwards and providing leadership and coaching for junior staff.

The successful candidate will be flexible in their style and approach in working with clients and team members.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Several years' experience working in the health and/or life science sector (either in industry and/or as a consultant)
  • Experience of utilising quantitative (economic, econometric, statistical) techniques in the health and/or life sciences sector
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experience of delivering projects to time and budget

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience of transactions or investments in the life sciences and/or private health sectors
  • Consulting experience
  • Commercial/sales experience
