BMC is led globally by Karen Hopkins. The function is made up of around 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; PR/Media Relations & External Communications; Internal Communications & Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.


BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. The opportunity
 

This role has responsibility for Strategy and Transactions (SaT) marketing and communications in EMEIA, one of our four geographical Areas. The person provides strong support to the SaT leadership team in helping develop a marketing and communications strategy that supports the business objectives of SaT and EY. The role is accountable for providing communications, enablement and deployment of all SaT programs within EMEIA, as well as playing a key role in for SaT globally. 


The person will work with the EMEIA Strategy and Transactions Leader and the senior team across the BMC agenda. The role manages/coordinates a network of BMC professionals supporting SaT activities at the Regional level. Success in this role rests on the co-development of a strategy that enables the delivery of world-class BMC programs that integrate service lines and sectors, that are relevant both globally and locally and that deliver sustainable, measurable results. Success will be measured through agreed metrics including EY’s global brand survey and through pipeline and sales metrics. Global travel will be required pending business needs.

 
 
Your key responsibilities
 

In this role, you’ll work with the SaT BMC Leader to create world class BMC strategies that align with the SaT business priorities to achieve strong business results. You’ll be responsible for managing relationships with key SaT stakeholders across the BMC organization and within the business in EMEIA, establishing sponsors and subject matter resources for appropriate programs. 


You’ll be the catalyst for enabling and deploying BMC programs in the Area, working with the business to find sponsors and champions. To make that happen, you’ll execute the plan with a focus on delivering results and business outcomes that build brand, expand relationships and ultimately drive revenue with clients and prospects. 


You’ll provide input from the EMEIA perspective to firmwide program development. You’ll manage and engage talent, working with the SaT BMC leadership; build and run the network of marketing and communications people at the Regional level. You’ll provide guidance, information and support to enable successful deployment of relevant programs. 


You’ll support methods for driving innovation and change across the organization and take an organizational-level view of implications; manage competing forces and drive understanding, motivation and stakeholder value. You’ll maintain up-to-date knowledge on BMC and SL issues, trends and long-term implications for EY’s brand strategy. 


You’ll provide input into LEAD process for EMEIA BMC Regional leads for SaT marketing and communications as per line management/counselling responsibilities across the SaT BMC team.

  • Motivate professionals across BMC to realize the BMC vision; enable innovative thinking and inspire innovative action in others; communicate the business case for change; leverage communications to inspire others

  • Be a point of integration; connect all facets of the business when initiating, developing and implementing marketing and communications projects; enable knowledge sharing throughout BMC and the practice; develop an ability to synthesize information from others; help the business address its big issues; serve as an organizational connector; address complex political issues directly yet diplomatically

  • Assert own ideas and persuade others; gain support and commitment from others; mobilize people to take action; use creative approaches to motivate others to meet practice and BMC strategic goals; engage with leaders effectively to gain sponsorship for activities

  • Gather client feedback to generate meaningful, actionable information that helps drive change and continuous improvements across the organization; complement the data-gathering and change process with a strong marketing plan that communicates the importance of customer satisfaction both internally and externally.

 

To qualify for the role you must have 

  • Proven ability to manage complex processes and/or projects at a global level

  • Experience in B2B communications and marketing, with substantial experience of professional services 

  • Good understanding of the SaT business, key buyers and influencers

  • Experience of managing a diverse global team

  • High degree of influencing and networking skills

  • Outstanding communication abilities and experience

  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships in BMC and beyond

  • Ability to challenge views/perspectives while securing buy-in within BMC and beyond

  • Experience in managing complex global programs.
