UX Consultant (EY Digital), Technology Consulting

The opportunity
The UX researcher will design, lead and execute the strategic research and usability studies. Create actional insights from results, data and industry landscape for UX design. Build competency within the team and responsible for setting UX policy and standards and ensuring that those policies and standards are adhered to by the team.

Your key responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong appreciation and knowledge of UX and fundamental design principles.
  • Independently set up research framework and cadence to ensure strong user understanding.
  • Good communication with project and delivery teams to ensure alignment.
  • Work alongside project consultants, creative designers and developers to ensure proposed designs and UX results in the best user experience and is technically feasible.
  • Design user flows and prototype experiences in an iterative manner with stakeholders.
  • Translate complex/broad user needs, style guides, and business requirements into simple yet elegant features ideas and world-class experiences.
  • Conducting UX reviews during the course of project process.
  • Facilitate and lead usability testing process.
  • Design and lead focus group / research to solve existing problems, validate hypothesis and designs, or explore and develop new business opportunities.
  • Build empathy and be a user advocate in our web development process.
  • Able to roll up sleeves and support in designing / project management when necessary
  • Assisting with pitches where required.
  • Coaching, supporting, energising, and ensuring best practices are instilled into the team.
  • Interpreting client briefs and establishing the appropriate approach.
  • Participate in key meetings to ensure a smooth delivery.
  • Preparing and running workshops.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Bachelor's Degree in in human-computer interaction, human factors engineering, industrial engineering, cognitive science, experimental psychology, anthropology, information sciences, related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with usability testing tools such as Tobii etc.
  • Experience with analysis and presentation tools such as Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience with design prototyping on tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision etc.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Mural etc.
  • Basic understanding of the domain expertise of partner teams such as web digital technologies, product and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
  • Strong working knowledge of statistics, survey design, interviewing, and the principles of experiment design.
  • Empathy for users and a drive to discover and resolve their pain points.
  • Passion for solving user problems and creating delightful design experiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to quickly command trust and respect from executives and partners


Ideally, you'll also have
  • Maintaining UX knowledge by attending conferences, reading blogs and other news sources etc.
  • Disseminating knowledge within the business by writing website articles, conducting lunch and learns.
