Credit Risk Analyst

About the team:

Worldpay from FIS has a large and expanding footprint both in the UK and on a global level and it is the Credit Team that plays the key role ensuring the initial and ongoing credit worthiness of our customers. As a Credit Risk Analyst in our travel focused team, you'll be given your own portfolio of customers to manage covering some of our larger and more complex exposures. This diverse portfolio will give you the opportunity to work with large global businesses and along with various stakeholders both internally and externally, protect FIS from unforeseen losses and avoidable reputational damage.

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a bright and ambitious individual to join our London based team where you will undertake quality credit risk assessments to establish the ongoing creditworthiness of Worldpay customers. Working through varied tasks at a fast pace, you will complete credit risk analysis demonstrating both insight and understanding across both financial statements and relevant non-financial information. You'll be making recommendations from this, referring to FIS policies for approval via the appropriate sanctioning authority. Communicating your decisions/rationale in a clear and concise manner, you'll proactively engage with internal stakeholders and our clients to find solutions to best manage our risk.
  • Undertake quality credit risk assessments, within agreed service levels, as necessary for an existing portfolio of FIS customers (including applications for increased/additional facilities) and ensuring completion on a timely basis
  • Undertake financial analysis demonstrating both insight and understanding across financial statements and relevant non-financial information
  • Formulate recommendations, with reference to Worldpay policies, for approval via appropriate sanctioning authority, including communicating decisions / rationale in a clear and concise manner
  • Proactively engage with both internal and external stakeholders, finding solutions to business propositions and wherever possible, maximising loss mitigation
  • Where material deteriorating concerns are identified, or risk of loss is considered likely, undertake necessary actions to minimise potential loss as appropriate
  • Participate in developing, testing and optimizing internal credit policies, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance and assisting in the implementation of these policies and processes


What you bring - Essential:
  • A strong understanding of credit risk management techniques and ability to apply these independently, including knowledge of financial statement analysis
  • Have previously worked in a corporate environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in particular, the ability to convey complex or difficult messages in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under strict timelines whilst maintaining strong attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, a constant curiosity and a drive to do the right thing in the right way


Added bonus if you have:
  • An understanding of the merchant acquiring industry, and in particular, of Card Scheme rules
  • Specific credit risk experience within the travel sector
  • An advanced understanding of financial statement and ratio analysis
