About the Team

The Enterprise Architecture Team is a highly skilled, cohesive, and creative team focused on modernizing the architecture of the Modern Banking Platform(MBP solution)and other banking services integration channels. It is responsible for the development of infrastructure and tools for cloud deployments in both FIS data centers and public cloud environments. A high value is placed on each individual's ideas and contributions to the technical solutions provided to all development teams. We use our experience in building frameworks to add scale, performance, and reliabilityforother team's component development. As a member of the team, you will be working on managing this delivery. Your ideas and solutions will have a big impact on how modern banking applications are created at FIS.

The Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of assigned technical projects. Projects are focused on upgrades that provide the architecture runway for the MBP solution-specific projects that may involve development or enhancement of internal applications, technology integration and/or infrastructure environment build-out, or delivery of new or enhanced products and/or services to improve customer satisfaction through use of technology.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans and coordinates all aspects of technicalarchitectureprojects from initiation through delivery.
  • Fills theSAFerole of Release Train Engineer for the Architecture team:
  • Servant leader and coach for the ART
  • Facilitate ART events
  • Communicate annual calendar for iterations and PIs
  • Summarize PI objectives
  • Coordinate with STE and Product Owners
  • Facilitate PI planning event
  • Maintain Scrum Board
  • Manages project initiation activities includingdefining project scope from the Architecture Roadmap, presenting initiatives in Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, and setting up project tracking in Planview, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Ensures requirements forarchitecture are sufficientlyalignedtothe Architecture Roadmap.
  • Develops alternate requirements or document exceptions as appropriate.
  • Develops, defines, and executes project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets, and deliverablesusing Agile methodology.
  • Prepares annual IDSW Financial Analysis Model and works with Finance for workflow approval.
  • Understands and operates within Lean Budgets and ensures adherence to Guardrails.
  • Interacts withMBP development leadership, product teams, leveraged infrastructure teams, implementation teamsand/or other cross-functional teams.
  • Works with the Architecture Strategy director to identifyneeded resources for projects, definemajor project roles, and provide structure for status reporting.
  • Coordinatesactivities and tasks among project team members,development teams, leveraged infrastructure teams, and product teamsas needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints,and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope.
  • Assigns and monitors work of project team providing technical and analytical support and direction. Interfaces withother FISemployees on technical matters as needed.
  • Manages project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals, e.g., deadline, scope and quality are achieved. Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.
  • Serves as liaison betweenarchitectureand non-technical teamsin internal organizations(such as Finance, Security, and Policy)to ensure all project targets and requirements are met.
  • Organizes, leads, and summarizes weekly Scrum of Scrums across MBP Architecture and Development leads.
  • Conducts project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, handover documentation and ongoing activities to accountable teams and complete a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

  • Prior experience workingon projects developingservice-orientedarchitecture, clouddeployment technologies,API development, and event processing.
  • Comfortable working within an Agile development setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Extensive knowledge of FIS products,services, policies, and standards:

  • Secure Development Practices Policy

  • Knowledge of the industry project management best practices, i.e., Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and the correct project application.
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry, e.g., ISO, CMM,PCI Compliance.
  • Knowledge of DevOpsand CICD practices.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry required.
  • Support the Strategy Director with interaction of CIO teams of leveraged infrastructure.
  • Projectpractices andtools,andauxiliary tools:
  • Agile andSAFe
  • Scrum - Stories, Sprints, terminology, and practice
  • Jira - Scrum Boards, Dashboards, JQL syntax for queries
  • Confluence - creating, editing, and organizing wiki pages
  • Kendis experience a plus, but not necessary
  • Security -Black Duck / Veracode /Sysdig- where reports are stored, basic interpretation of content.
  • MS Office - Intermediate level skills in Word, Excel,PowerPoint
  • Some Visio experience a plus but not mandatory
  • Planview- ability to Authorize team members to a project, create Resource Portfolios, monitor time entry.

  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, team, conflict management and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively withFIS senior managers.
  • Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance and build high morale among team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature.
  • High interest in learning about related topics:
  • Public cloud terminology, tools, and deployments.
  • Basic concepts of Service Oriented Architecture - difference between SOAP and REST services.
  • Basic concepts of a technology stack.
  • Basic developer tools and how they are used - Maven, Eclipse.
  • Basic development process.
  • Advancing and modernizingCICD..
  • Knowledgeable aboutAPIs.
  • Containers - Docker containers; Helm charts.
  • Software versioning and release processes.


Bonus if you have:
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe4.5+) is a Bonus.
  • LeadingSAFe,CSM certification is Preferred.
  • Banking Solutions experience
  • Familiar with technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Familiar with CICD processes driving continuous delivery.
