Job Description

Director, Global Medical Affairs, Inflammation

 

Reporting to the Executive Director for Global Medical Affairs, Inflammation,  the Director of Medical affairs is the subject matter expert responsible for contributing to or leading the global Medical Affairs strategic and tactical plans. Supporting the development and preparation for launch of a next generation JAK1 selective inhibitor across multiple immune-mediated conditions in addition to the evolving inflammation Clinical Development Pipeline.

 

Job Responsibilities

An integral part of the INFLAM Medical Affairs Team, the Director of Inflammation will provide scientific and medical expertise to external and internal stakeholders in the inflammation disease area.  

 

Specific responsibilities for this role may include but are not limited to:

·       Providing scientific and medical leadership for inflammation products, including development of global strategic plans and associated deliverables

·       Leading efforts for the execution of global medical tactics, including data generation and communication plans in collaboration with other data generation functions

·       Partnering with regional medical teams to ensure regional activities are aligned with medical strategy and that regional needs are reflected in the global strategy

·       Providing medical content expertise for abstract review, training, advisory boards and other data communication opportunities

·       Represent Gilead at key medical conferences and congresses and with the thought leader community

·       Provide medical support for key commercial and other internal activities

·       Participate in the review and approval of investigator initiated studies

·       Ensuring consistent and accurate medical communications

·       Providing medical input into lifecycle planning

 

Requirements

·       Advanced degree (i.e. MD, DO, Ph.D, PharmD) required with a background in rheumatology and/or inflammatory bowel disease (preferred)

·       The ability to travel to nationally/internationally as required

·       Ability to understand and communicate complex analysis

·       Team orientated and ability to work collaboratively towards common objectives

·       A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with relevant experience in medical affairs or strong clinical equivalent

·       Launch experience a plus
