Senior Director, Tax

Job Description


  • Lead global tax provision and ASC 740 accounting cycle, including footnotes, disclosures, permanent/temporary differences, discrete items, rate reconciliation, inventory of deferred assets/liabilities, taxes payable, valuation allowances, tax rates, return-to-provision adjustments, tax provision memos, tax journal entries as well as coordination with external auditors.
  • Determine tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and related disclosures with respect to U.S. operations, including monitoring the tax environment to ensure that the tax reserves are reasonable and lead any voluntary disclosures that may be required.
  • Provide forecasts and guidance regarding U.S. and non-U.S. future effective tax rates and cash taxes.
  • Lead and manage completion and review of tax compliance concerning U.S., state & local and international operations, tax credits, tax compliance memos.
  • Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships within and outside of tax department.

Basic Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or multinational publicly listed company
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Proven track record of building, developing and leading a team
  • Experienced with tax software, and system implementation
  • Extensive experience and proficiency of US GAAP accounting for taxes and internal controls
  • Authoritative knowledge of US tax laws and regulations and capability of application in new situations
  • Strong post-US tax reform technical skills including GILTI, BEAT, FTC, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of state and local corporate income and sales/use tax
  • Strong knowledge of a tax provision and return tools and the ability to improve processes
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing and adhering to tight timelines
  • Ability to get things done and comfortable with fast changing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.
  • CPA license
  • LL.M. or MS in Taxation
