Job Description

The US Commercial Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) Business Lead will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and integration of targeted inclusion and diversity initiatives across the function and ensure alignment  to  corporate I&D goals. The candidate will also serve as the champion and change agent on I&D efforts for the US Commercial Organization.

The I&D Business Lead will work in close partnership with the Inclusion & Diversity team, Senior Leaders, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and others business partners  to ensure the successful design, development and integration   of initiatives for the function.

The Business Lead  will be comfortable in managing the needs of various commercial teams and ERGs within the function, providing a mix of strategic and hands-on support.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as thought partner on I&D best practices and help to represent the broad sentiment and employee perspectives
  • Support functional I&D diversity action planning in alignment with corporate I&D goals, US Commercial priorities and other company or HR initiatives: attracting, retaining and developing diverse talent. Check progress in regular meetings with functional leaders and support execution of key I&D programs.
  • Support the creation of organizational development tools/solutions/processes that enhance and align I&D initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition team members, to assess and strengthen diverse and inclusive talent pipelines and resolve talent management challenges.
  • Act as business liaison for proposed I&D solutions to attract, develop and retain diverse talent (Examples include: representing business at recruitment conferences like NSN, Prospanica, etc. and ensuring success of MBA rotational program)
  • Quickly gain fundamental understanding of business strategy and how to link I&D initiatives to business initiatives and opportunities.
  • Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative I&D data from the US Commercial organization (ERG focus groups, employee survey, working group & Inclusion Council feedback, diversity dashboards,) and recommendations initiatives aligned with current corporate I&D vision and goals. Support Change Management and Communication Plan Framework to ensure transparency of vision and progress.
  • Attend external organizations’ diversity events to gain external perspectives and insights and share-back  relevanttools and resources as part of ongoing efforts to evolve Gilead culture and employee experience.
