Sr. Manager External Reporting

Job Description


  • Draft, review and/or edit external reporting materials including earnings press release and SEC filings (e.g. 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
  • Lead the preparation/review of supporting documentation for SEC filings
  • Ensure appropriate documentation for all external filings
  • Analyze the impact on disclosures under U.S. GAAP related to technical accounting issues
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the external reporting process
  • Support the external auditors' audit/reviews of SEC filings, as required
  • Mentor and develop others as needed

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and interact successfully with non-financial personnel
  • Provides direction and coordination to staff within the department and cross-functionally.
  • Ensures financial records are in compliance with GAAP
  • Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies & procedures
  • Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely & accurate data and communication
  • Evaluates processes and recommends and implements process improvements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous process improvement
  • Ability to adapt to and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules/regulations along with an awareness of current accounting pronouncements
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to multi-task, execute and manage time-sensitive projects and follow-through to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience
  • CPA certification required - Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
  • Multi-national organization experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • 8+ years of related experience, large global company experience preferred
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
