Job Description

Sr Manager, Finance - FP&A

 

Responsibilities

Manages the delivery of accurate and timely management reporting including monthly financials, revenue reporting, and functional expense reporting.  

Delivers advanced analytical support to middle and upper management, either through subordinate financial analysts or individual efforts.

Conducts financial modeling to support tactical and strategic decision making such as business case development, cost analysis, and sensitivity analyses.

Working with other senior members of the FP&A team, manages the annual planning calendar involving in-depth coordination of portfolio review, strategic plan, budget and forecasts (internal and external).  

 Continuously focuses on improvements to planning processes and systems and works closely with finance management to develop more integrated planning processes and systems.  

Provides advice and training to business partners on improvements to budget management. 

May be responsible for decisions regarding reporting changes, entries and adjustments, pricing strategy, and/or forecasts.

May manage and develop a professional staff of financial analysts.

Project Involvement:

Actively participates in cross-functional projects.

Leads departmental projects of varying complexity.

Additional Responsibilities – International: 

 Individuals at this level serve as dedicated FP&A in-country leads.  Leads the annual planning calendar involving in-depth coordination of portfolio review, strategic plan, budgets and forecasts (internal and external).

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of Cognos, Hyperion Pillar and JD Edwards required. 

Advanced Excel, database and PowerPoint skills required.

Managerial experience involving coordination of financial planning processes such as strategic plan budgets and forecasts is desirable.

Experience with project reporting and operational accounting and reporting is critical.  

Solid experience working with upper management is necessary.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills are required.  

At US and non-US sites, proficiency in written and verbal English is required.  

Strong track record of meeting deadlines in a multitask environment is a must.  

Typical Education & Experience

8+ years of relevant experience in a financial planning and analysis role and a BA or BS degree.   

CPA qualification preferred  

CMA qualification preferred    

MBA preferred

Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus  

Experience in multi-national organization a plus

Previous supervisory experience

International Roles:

Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred.
