Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Investor Relations (IR) is a critical member of the Investor Relations team that communicates Gilead’s research programs, commercial and financial performance to the investment community. With a keen understanding of Gilead’s products, pipeline, operations and corporate strategy, the Sr. Manager, IR will help make decisions that contribute to the company's strategic goals.

Investor Relations draws broadly upon multiple disciplines, including finance, communications, marketing and science. An excellent candidate will have skills and experience in one or more of these areas and will have a keen interest in learning other areas.

Investor Community Engagement

  • Learn and master Investor Relations best practices including principles of materiality and fair disclosure
  • Develop a deep understanding of communications principles specific to buyside and sellside investor audiences

Strategic Partnering with Executive Management

  • Prepare reports for senior leadership, including analyses of stock performance, peer benchmarking, analyst research, investor interactions and Wall Street consensus

Operations and Cross Functional Partnering

  • Work with groups including Public Affairs, Clinical Development, Medical, Commercial, Legal, Corporate Accounting, Treasury and FP&A to prepare press releases, Investor Relations slides and Q&A documents
  • Provide support for earnings calls, investor conferences and other events including the annual shareholder meeting
  • Manage the earnings call process and coordinate deliverables with Finance, Legal and Public Affairs
  • Support scientific conferences - work cross functionally to disseminate information to analysts/investors
  • Maintain the IR section of the corporate website
  • Respond effectively to information requests

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 7 years relevant experience with a BS/BA or 5 years with Masters
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Skilled in moving from analysis to action
  • Great project management skills with attention to detail
  • Able distill complex scientific and business information into clear and effective statements
  • Work effectively with colleagues across the organization and build credibility with senior leadership
  • Able to handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment and have a “roll up the sleeves” attitude
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree or business degree
  • Biotech or healthcare experience
