The Tech Early Talent Programme Manager has a global remit to engage with senior Tech and HR stakeholders and is responsible for leading all aspects of the Programmes from workforce planning, recruitment, governance, budget management, programme design specific for Tech and development against the 70:20:10 model.

Specifically, the current programmes include;

• The Tech Future Leaders Programme (FLP) is designed to provide accelerated development for graduates from target universities and courses in order to develop them as a global pipeline of future tech leaders for GSK. This is achieved via a three-year, rotational structure, a global network of support from senior Leaders, external training, mentors, coaches, learning sessions and Graduates networks.

• The Tech Technical Expert Programme (TEP) is an exciting new programme designed to provide accelerated development and opportunity for early tech talent. Providing a valued pipeline of technical experts (individual contributors) at GSK.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Leadership: Evolve the structure of the programme to align to Tech Transformation, Tech People Strategy and the Centre of Excellence. Provide overall leadership in Tech and contribute in partnership with the CoE the effectiveness of the overall Programme.

2) Stakeholder Engagement: Fully understand and engage with senior Tech stakeholders (global, regional & local) to build relationships and increase the visibility of the Programme, ensuring full business ownership of this key talent and drive Tech engagement.

3) Budget ownership and management: Recommend and gain approval to required budget. Manage the budget, including salary costs for FLP Associates / Technical Experts Associates, Global Assignment costs as well as recruitment and development costs annually.

4) Strategic workforce planning: Work with Tech and HR leads to strategically plan early talent needs, both strategic capability and demand numbers. Each year define recruitment targets in Tech and brief University Relations teams at both a local and regional levels.

5) Assist Attraction and drive selection: Successfully lead the annual recruitment process. Engage with Tech to support key activity; building relationships with academic institutes through GSK campus teams. Confirm shortlist for assessment through interviews. Facilitate the right assessors (Tech Leaders) to attend assessment centre. Manage wash-ups in home geographies. Capture feed-back and confirm offers to be given. Manage internships to build pipeline of applicants from target universities.

6) Development approach and management: Oversee (design and deliver) development for all the Programmes. Ensure an appropriate learning framework is in place and in use to build capabilities required for Tech. Use the recommended CoE recommendations to build leadership capability in the 70:20:10 frameworks.

a. 70 % Rotations: Accountable with custodians for the identification of key stretch roles for all associates on the Programmes. Ensure Associates are placed under key talent line managers.
b. 20% supporting relationships: Provide line managers with all necessary tools, guidance and support to help them in developing FLP Associates and apprentices. Ensure mentoring support is in place and used. Provide coaching and guidance to programme participants as required. Create and manage programme network of those on programme to ensure shared learning (alumni network in the future).
c. 10% formal training: ensure participation in recommended leadership training interventions for programme as well as effective on-boarding. Recommend and manage training required to build functional /technical capabilities (focus on five technical capabilities: Software Engineering, Cloud Development, Cyber Security, Product Development, Big Data). Leverage Global Learning, Capability and Excellence teams support.

7) Talent management: Ensure active assessment and calibration of talent on the Programmes and ensure visibility and sponsorship with senior leaders. Proactively manage off-boarding which supports appropriate post programme on-going development. Oversee and track on-going progression and retention of key alumni.

8) Metrics: Ensure appropriate metrics to measure return on investment of the programme and recommend areas for improvement. Report common agreed metrics and data for global programme to global CoE teams and key stakeholders. Ensure the maintenance of data in Workday and manage talent pools effectively.

9) Governance: Be an active member of global programme governance boards organised by CoE and regional teams. Be part of the early talent community of practioners to share and learn from each other. Ensure alignment of overall programme strategies, Associate rotations and off boarding roles are discussed at the Tech Leadership Team Tech Talent Board and regional Talent Boards throughout the year. Ensure FLT Sponsorship is maintained for each Associate.

• Degree or equivalent experience qualified
• Background in technology would be advantageous
