Manager of Policy, Risk and Compliance (Procurement)

In this role you will lead key deliverables within the policy, risk and compliance agenda across Global Procurement. As part of the Procurement Centre of Excellence, you will provide efficient and effective support to colleagues globally for the management of policy, risk and compliance, providing high quality inputs and reporting to support these goals. This position is all about creating appropriate controls across Global Procurement which allow for policy, risk and compliance to be second nature to the business. You will play a crucial part in implementing and updating processes which support how the rest of the business delivers against their risk and compliance plans and will monitor and drive the effectiveness and efficiency of these changes to ensure true commitment and successful integration.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leading key deliverables within the policy, risk and compliance agenda across Global Procurement
• Ensuring procurement is effective in identifying and managing risk, quality and governance,
• Ensuring Global Procurement Leadership has evidence of control in their area
• Ensuring written Standards are simple and effective.
• Effective collaboration with stakeholders in policy, risk & compliance groups such as Global Ethics & Compliance, Audit & Assurance and Quality
• Coaching and mentoring Global Procurement employees on GSK expectations for effective control of policy, risk and compliance
• Clarifying and educating on Global Procurement role in Enterprise policy, risk and compliance initiatives
• Driving an effective approach to executing against the policy, risk, quality and compliance agenda
• Providing effective support across Global Procurement to ensure good practice management of policy, risk and compliance is sustainable and firmly embedded

About You:
Excellence in this position will be apparent when changes to policy, risk and compliance are not only conceived but are embedded effectively into the organisation with buy-in and commitment from all the relevant stakeholders. Your role is not just to come up with a theoretical plan but to support the appropriate leaders to make this plan work. As such, the ability to communicate, to influence and to engage with senior leaders in the business is as important as the technical experience of the role. You need to be able to operate at a senior level and find ways to promote your changes and to encourage others to commit to them too.
To do this you will need to demonstrate technical competency not only in Indirects Procurement, but also in managing organisational change projects in global Procurement. You must be comfortable working in a fast moving, but highly regulated environment, and much have an appreciation for commercial risk and the importance of building risk and compliance policies which do not shackle but rather support and protect.

• Significant experience working in complex global organisations
• Experience of highly regulated environments
• Experience in risk management or compliance
• Hands on experience of procurement, supplier management or operational management for outsourced services
• Demonstrable experience implementing and rolling out organisational change

Preferred qualifications:
• Masters or other higher-level qualification
• Additional procurement related certifications
• Experience in audit processes
• Experience managing complex project execution
