UX Manager

User Experience (UX) is a new service & capability that's been created in Global Application & Development (GA&D) Tech to drive usability improvements of our internal applications and external customer facing touchpoints. GA&D have invested in a UX Laboratory to conduct user testing, but we want to expand the range of UX services offered. As the service becomes more and more popular with the business and demand increases, we now require a UX lab manager to manage UX engagements and the day to day running of the UX lab.

Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to manage the UX engagements and the UX lab operations. From supporting the UX Director to scope potential UX projects with stakeholders in the business (e.g. Product Owners), to helping the business understand the process for engaging with the UX team, to sourcing participants to test applications, arranging user sessions and managing the flow of work within the UX team.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop relationships with stakeholders within GA&D Tech who are looking to improve usability of their products and applications. Educate them on the process on how to engage with the UX team to make their project a success.
• Support GA&D tech stakeholders in developing their objectives for the UX study, collaborating with them understand their challenges and to recommend the best way forward, using a selection of our UX tools to do this. Collaborate with stakeholders to formalise their requirements into a research brief
• Ensure that all required artefacts are complete before the UX engagement takes place to ensure it runs smoothly, act as a gatekeeper to the UX team - pushing back if we don't have enough information for the study to be a success
• Help the business stakeholders to identify their customer personas and to ensure that participants are sourced to represent these personas
• Liaise with participants and schedule user sessions in the lab, whether F2F or remote.
• Develop relationships with our vendors to ensure that we are getting the most out of the technology within the lab, seek to implement best practice from other labs within GSK / other industries
• Help the UX team demonstrate value and quality, by working with business stakeholders to implement and record recommendations from the UX team
• Communicate and show case UX lab engagements to drive awareness within GA&D tech of the lab and its benefits

Why You?Basic qualifications:
• Experience in Information architecture, consumer experience design, interaction design or similar role. • Marketing skills in research & customer behaviours.
• Stakeholder engagement at mid-management levels across the Organisation to apply product UX analysis in a business context with deep analytical and meaningful insights.

Preferred qualifications:
• Background in behavioural sciences with an engineering/design background to influence & understand how to improve the User Experience.
