Eligibility: Our next Graduate Program launches in 2020. We're looking for final year students who are working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies and be available for a full time graduate role commencing in the summer of 2020.

The role

The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform puts quality, audited data at the centre of customer's organisations.  Its solutions build gold copy masters across all data types, delivering tangible data governance, risk management and compliance frameworks and rationalising legacy architectures. The EDM platform is the central core for all transactions, securities, prices, rates, counterparty and issuer data. EDM empowers those who understand the data to manage the data, no matter the complexity, volume or scope of the project. 

Roles within this stream sit in either the EDM Client Services team or EDM Professional Services team.

EDM Client Services: A Client Services role, based in Altrincham, is dynamic and provides a fantastic opportunity to build a solid career solving the data management issues of global top tier financial institutions.

As a graduate within this team your responsibilities may include:
  • Investigation, reproduction and resolution of customer issues including advising on workarounds and identifying issue for fixing by the development team
  • First line support which includes responding to telephone and online support queries
  • Interacting with clients and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information flows
  • Participate in the set up and management of hosted client EDM environments
  • Investigates and documents existing procedures and make recommendations for improvements

Professional Services: A Offsite Implementation Consultant role, based in Altrincham, works with clients globally on implementation activities, generally in an offsite capacity; however, at times team members are required to travel to client sites to assist with onsite implementation activities. The team is coached and led by a senior Managing Consultant, and are trained in using SQL Server, the Markit EDM application, and in the informational needs of modern financial and energy institutions. The role is dynamic and provides a fantastic opportunity to build a solid career solving the data management issues of global top tier financial and energy institutions.

As a graduate within this team your responsibilities may include:
  • Develop a working level knowledge of the EDM software application by completing a sample onboarding project
  • Handle client and employee requests for EDM packages
  • Perform pre-upgrade analysis on client's EDM databases
  • Configuring Markit EDM application to meet the client specifications
  • Testing the project deliverables ensuring they are in line with documented requirements.
  • Interacting with clients and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information flows

The successful candidate will require skills in the following:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (or equivalent) completed no later than September 2020 in computer science or equivalent
  • This program is aimed at graduates with 0-12 months relevant experience
  • An interest in the financial markets would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in SQL is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Data Base management using MS SQL Server and/or Oracle would be beneficial
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
  • Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply
UK Eligibility: To be eligible for our Graduate program you must have the right to work full-time in the UK now and in the future. We currently do not offer visa sponsorship, however we do run our programs in a number of locations across the globe and welcome you to consider those that are relevant to you.
