Markit Securities Finance (MSF) provides global securities lending data to help customers manage securities lending programmes, optimise trading performance and enhance investment decision making.
Our securities finance dataset covers more than $30 trillion of global securities in the lending programmes of more than 20,000 institutional funds. It includes more than ten years of history with over three million intraday transactions. Our data is sourced directly from leading industry practitioners, including prime brokers, custodians, asset managers and hedge funds.
Our securities finance offering provides insight into market sentiment and trading transparency from a macro to individual stock level. It also delivers Tri-Party Repo data and analytics to provide enhanced visibility and insight into the market for collateral cash investments, demand, pricing and usage. Collateral and funding managers of prime dealers, banks, money market funds, securities lenders, hedge funds, insurance companies and corporations can benefit from our comprehensive combination of Repo and securities lending data and analytics.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of the securities lending market. It requires experience of working in financial markets and knowledge of equities, fixed income and derivatives to be able to come up with new research ideas. The successful candidate will have a good mix of technical and quantitative skills to be able to back-test different strategies and ideas to highlight the value of the MSF dataset to clients and prospects through research papers. This role also requires exploring and analysing other Markit datasets for potential synergies with the MSF product.
Duties & accountabilities
- Research, develop and apply statistical analysis to highlight value proposition of the securities finance data and other Markit datasets
- Use regression techniques, back-testing models and predictive analysis to create new product offerings
- Work collaboratively with the product and the research teams
- Highlight new use cases to clients through excel spreadsheets and data visualization
- Recommend enhancements to existing processes using data analytics
Education and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
· Master's degree in Finance/Technology
· Minimum 3 years related experience
· Experience with Matlab/R/E-views/Python
· CFA or FRM certifications
· Strong Excel, VBA and SQL skills
Knowledge and experience of handling complex financial products is required
Knowledge of equities, fixed income and derivative is required
Must have the flexibility to the following shifts:
10:00 IST to 19:00 IST
12:00 IST to 21:00 IST
