Sr. Software Engineer


General Job Duties
  • As a Senior Member of a development team; design, plan and develop solutions based on industry requirements.
  • Take the lead of a project team to code, test, and implement moderately complex programs.
  • Establishes testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested throughout development and before release.
  • Ability to resolve complex design problems.
  • Monitor and report to management and/or technical lead on project status, identify issues that may impede attainment of goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.
  • Ability to work closely with a product owner and business partners.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written mediums.
  • Mentor other software engineers on the project team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software and database development.
  • Thorough understanding of MS Visual Studio, C# and/or JS, .Net, MS SQL Server TSQL, and MS TFS or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Thorough understanding of relation database concepts, Graphical User Interface, and service oriented architecture.
  • Knowledge of one or more graphical user interface tools such as Infragistics and database object tools such as CSLA a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - must be able to work effectively as part of a project/program team and foster team cooperation.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • 5 + years of experience with Python, or equivalent ETL tool (in Unix or Linux environments)  
  • Good experience with different flavors of RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Sql server, Oracle, etc.)

Organizational Relationships
  • Interacts with other colleagues at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities.
  • Participates in meetings with internal stakeholders to assess business needs.
