Claims Team Manager - Jelf

To lead, drive and develop the Claims team to deliver a client-centric service in line with the claims proposition. Your wider stakeholder group includes Clients, Loss Adjusters, Underwriters and Suppliers whilst internal relationships will be with Compliance offers, claims and branch team members.

Key responsibilities :

  • Lead, monitor and manage team performance, focusing on client service and quality excellence, driving continuous improvement
  • Management of all direct reports.
  • Oversight and management of team workflow.
  • Develop an autonomous empowered culture within the team, leading by example,
  • Encourage team to build and maintain effective working relationships with wider business.
  • Identify training requirements to support staff development.
  • Monthly 1:1 Meetings and bi-annual performance reviews with direct reports
  • Monitoring of individual staff performance, providing feedback and taking appropriate action to address
  • Management of Team recruitment and staff selection.
  • Maintain open channels of communication and disseminate technical and operational updates.
  • Responsibility for regulatory compliance providing first point of contact for escalated issues and complaints 
  • Provision and monitoring of MI and KPI reports.
  • Analysis of team performance/MI to understand any issues/trends/opportunities and implement appropriate actions/solutions.
  • Representing claims in any internal/external meetings as required.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • CII essential, CII Dip desirable
  • Evidence of leadership skills.
  • Effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and develop. 
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate.
  • Ability to embrace change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analytical skills.
  • IT Skills
  • Knowledge of the Acturis broking and claim system
