An exciting opportunity for a pensions Consultant with ideally 2 years’ experience working with DB and DC trust based pension schemes, to join the London based consulting team of the combined Mercer/JLT business. The role includes providing consulting advice to both trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers including responsibility for the day to day management of clients, ensuring that client needs and objectives are understood and appropriate services delivered to meet these and to support senior colleagues on more complex and challenging opportunities.
The role also requires providing services on a commercial basis and to help in increasing revenue and profitability. The role will not require any specific actuarial qualification or experience but progress towards or attainment of relevant industry qualifications will be an advantage. Initially the role will be working on the former JLT client bank but as the integration of JLT and Mercer proceeds there will be significant potential for career development.
Key competencies include;
- Current and informed knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and how to apply them
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels on both a group and one to one basis.
- High standard of written report writing skills and listening skills
- Be able to establish and manage relationships with colleagues and external parties
- Progress towards or attainment of relevant industry qualifications will be an advantage
