NERA has a team of competition experts in Europe providing economic advice to clients in matters before the European Commission, national competition authorities, courts, and national and international arbitrations. NERA experts work with clients, legal advisers, and professional consultants at all stages of a case, from the initial assessment of the relevant competition (and trade) aspects through to the preparation of economic reports, supported by strong conceptual analyses and empirical evidence.
We have an opening for a manager-level consultant in the Competition practice in our London office.
Responsibilities would include: managing projects and deliverables; designing and building quantitative models to analyse economic or financial data; managing large datasets and developing new approaches to collect and visualize data; managing a team of junior researchers to deliver large-scale, complex analyses; drafting reports; and, participating in client meetings.
Candidates should hold a Master’s or PhD in economics with an exceptional academic record, and have at least 4 years of experience applying competition economics.
Candidates should have strong empirical analysis skills including econometrics, and expertise in statistical programming tools such as STATA. Business development and team management experience would be an advantage.
Candidates must possess excellent English oral and written communication skills. Additional fluency in other European languages is preferred but not required.
