Experienced, senior investment consultant with demonstrable track record of winning significant new business within a complex client base. The candidate will have deep technical skills in LDI and hedging strategies, and will be able to demonstrate an ability to leverage complex technical solutions across a wider client book.
o Provides investment advice to a wide range of institutional clients on the determination of investment objectives, establishment of investment policy, selection of investment managers and the monitoring of investments.
o Creates and evaluates investment strategies and their impact for large and jumbo market clients.
o Leads efforts to aggressively market and expand the Investment Consulting business as well as Mercer's broader services as appropriate.
o Grows a book of retainer and project relationships through new business presentations, RFP responses, and joint calling with other colleagues, both within Investment Consulting and across lines of business.
o Maintains marketplace visibility through public speaking engagements, participating in professional societies and publishing articles in appropriate trade journals.
o Creates project work plans and monitors timelines and budgets.
o Determines clients' requirements and briefs the team as appropriate, providing the direction and guidance required to ensure deadlines and service standards are met.
o Ensures that specialist teams are involved in the provision of advice when appropriate. Peer reviews reports, adding client-specific information and ensuring client suitability.
o Directs the work of employees in a project team, providing mentorship and coaching.
Qualifications and Experience:
15years + relevant experience in consulting and perhaps asset management. Likely to be CFA or qualified actuary.
