Job Summary


This is the first stage on a career in consultancy and relationship management at Mercer. The Associate
Consultant will provide one to one support to a Client Relationship Manager (CRM); providing exceptional
customer service to your joint portfolio of customers. You will enable the CRM to deliver revenue and
customer retention targets. You will also assist the broader team as required to achieve team goals.


Main responsibilities and Accountabilities

  •  Take ownership of delivery of client plan agreed by CRM.
  •  Prepare the CRM for meetings with customers.
  •  Make sure meeting actions are initiated within 24 hours.
  •  Meet any agreed service levels as specified in the Service Specification.
  •  Attend customer meetings and present agreed components of the governance  report.
  •  Prepare invoicing for CRM sign off and assist with debt management.
  •  Support with dedicated portfolio
  •  Assist other CRMs in the team when workload demands as required
  •  Own customer relationship for customers as agreed with CRM  
  •  Prepare all Client reports for the CRM including Governance packs
  •  Undertake provider reviews and prepare recommendation reports
  •  Work closely with the Service Delivery Manager and Flex team to ensure

                  effective delivery of Benpal services.

  •  Liaise with Group Risk & Health and Flex team to keep client calendar updated and CRM abreast of client developments
  •  Work closely with other BC Associates to identify and track cross sell opportunities  and coordinate service delivery
  •  Maintain all core MI systems to support the production of quality MI

Experience and Education Requirements

  •  Degree education or equivalent
  •  Financial services experience gained in a similar role
  •      Ideally studying for a recognized professional qualification or have the desire to

  • Client development plans and key partners  to service the business
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, on a group and 1-1 basis.
  • High standard of written report writing skills. Listening skills.
  • Analytical and investigative skills.
  • Establish and manage relationships with internal staff and external parties. Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
