Sample Management Lead

The Sample Management Lead fulfills all of the duties of a Sr. Sample Coordinator in addition to oversight, coordination, and continued development of the technical training needs of all sample coordinators. This position will work 1st shift (8am-4:30pm) and can be for Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday. Essential Function:
  • Mentors and assesses staff through the normal course of their daily duties.
  • Oversees scheduling of sample management staff and assists the AD, Ops Labs with oversight of the department.
  • Performs any or all Sample Coordinator functions to include oversight and performance of a variety of complex standard tasks and sample tasks (receipt, accessioning, routing, storage, aliquotting, shipping, discard, destruction, etc.) in support of the Sample Management department.
  • Oversees the scheduling of sample coordinators.
  • Assists management with oversight of the department.
  • Acts as back-up in the absence of management.
  • Acts as a technical liaison for project-specific sample-management procedures.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of GLP/GCP
  • Solid project management skillsComputer skills - specifically experience with use of databases
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Good leadership abilities
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting abilities
  • Service mentality
