Senior Commercial Analyst

Summarized Purpose:

Manages complex cross-functional proposal processes, stakeholders, and timeliness to ensure contract proposals and/or modifications are completed accurately throughout the project lifecycle. Serves as an Account Lead on strategic accounts.

Essential Functions:
  • Manages proposal bid and budget negotiation process, synthesizing detailed client requirements in collaboration with key internal stakeholders to determine appropriate resource and budget allocation
  • Leads proposal bidding strategy calls to discuss customer requirements and negotiate budge strategy development and/or modification
  • Works with bidding system to perform sophisticated analysis of client budget to actual data, validate calculations and forecasting, and ensure accurate output of data in client required templates.
  • Defines action plans and timelines, and holds internal stakeholders accountable to those plans and timelines.
  • Contributes new ideas and strategies to improve the proposal process.
  • Analyzes proposal text and budget to corporate metrics, client expectations, and other benchmarks
  • Prepares sophisticated bids and proposals that conform to contract requirements and meet client needs, and applies quality control procedures to ensure all proposals conform to departmental standards

Job Qualification:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills with ability to function as an effective and respected partner to clients
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles, programs, trends, and best practices
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
  • Demonstrated executive presence and strong presentation skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor team members
