•Receiving and accessioning specimens, including whole blood.
•Storing and retrieving specimens.
•Assisting in specimen testing.
•Assisting in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control procedures.
•Checking inventory and ordering supplies.
•Utilizing good documentation practices and following laboratory safety policies.
•Performing clerical duties.
Bachelor's Degree in appropriate discipline required
Minimum of 6 months related laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Clinical laboratory experience including but may include settings of hospital or clinical laboratory assistance and specimen processing
Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Knowledge, Skill, or Ability:
•Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing and laboratory information systems.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.
•Knowledge of medical terminology.
