Within the Data Platform, our team is responsible for supporting the flagship Data Prep Editor user experience supporting power users building self-service workflows for data curation using a simple, powerful UI editor. We are responsible for a complex, rich UI written in React/Redux as well as interfacing via REST APIs with an Interactive Spark session that powers live, real-time previews of complex data transformations. A sneak peak of the tool we’re responsible for:

Some of the things we'll be doing include…
  • Building out new features supporting seamless, fluid user experience

  • Iteratively improving the reliability, performance and resiliency of our editor experience using a metrics driven approach

  • Delivering new user features powering user productivity

  • Continuing to hold the quality bar high through unit test coverage and creating test plans

  • Building foundational elements supporting complex use cases

  • Collaborating with other teams building new features on our product

  • Keeping a customer success focused mindset in addressing production issues

Required Skills

  • 5-7+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Experience with frontend systems using modern web technologies and frameworks: e.g. ES6+, React, TypeScript, Flow, Jest, and styled components

  • Deep knowledge of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language: Java, C++, C#, Ruby, Go, Scala, Python

  • Solid knowledge of database / big data / distributed technologies

  • Experience with Agile development methodology and Testing

  • Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence

  • In depth experience of design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent field, Masters preferred

  • Tools and Technologies: React/Redux, Spark, Kafka, REST, gRPC, Kubernetes, Splunk, Parquet.

  • Experience developing and delivering intuitive, powerful web UI applications

  • Experience with building data-processing or ETL products at scale
