Job Details

 Salesforce.com is looking for a Senior Product Manager or Director of Product Management to join our Search team to disrupt how millions of users discover, draw insights, and take action on their content.  This is a great opportunity to work on Natural Language Search and have a direct impact on the customer experience of millions of Salesforce users globally.  Come help us consumerize the Enterprise Search experience. 

The role will have both inbound and outbound responsibilities. Inbound responsibilities include working with our User Research, Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams to take search relevance features from initial concept to successful delivery. Outbound responsibilities will include meetings with customers, partners, and industry analysts to evangelize your product. This role also requires close collaboration with other Product teams to meet mutual goals. 

Search products involve complicated and specialized concepts that are not readily understood by all stakeholders. You will need to synthesize and summarize deep technical concepts into customer and business value to effectively communicate your vision to each stakeholder. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage market analysis, competitive knowledge, and customer research to define a strategy and roadmap for 1 or 2 Search Relevance teams (Query Understanding, Document Understanding, Product Analysts)

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements with attention to detail. 

  • Facilitate communication with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your roadmap

  • Engage directly with customers to validate your features achieve their desired business outcomes.

  • Define metrics and experiments(AB or other) to evaluate success. 

  • Create compelling demos and proof of concepts for both internal and external use.

  • Represent salesforce.com as a search expert at industry and corporate events with marketing and sales organization. 

Experience/Skills Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management.

  • 2+ years of experience working with Search

  • Degree in computer science or closely related field.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Strong communication skills.

  • Experience researching and analyzing user needs.

  • Awareness of ML/AI technologies. 

  • Love data - we do. Proficient at leveraging data sets to analyze and improve user experience.

  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to shift directions quickly when priorities change.

Nice to haves

  • Domain knowledge in Enterprise Software, CRM, or SaaS products. 

  • Statistics, Data Mining, or Data Processing experience.

  • MBA
