Manager, Digital Strategy & Social Media (ABC Entertainment)

Job Summary:

The Manager of Digital Strategy & Social Media works to create and maintain best in class digital media and marketing plans with a focus on driving viewership for ABC Entertainment’s shows and specials. The manager will work extensively on building digital strategies across all platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and will be expected to expand ABC’s social media presence into emerging platforms and digital destinations. The manager will also be responsible for the planning and fulfillment of paid social media campaigns in association with our media agency, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. This individual needs to be exceptionally strategic and the authority of information for the shows they work on. Candidate should be a creative, ambitious, multi-tasker who can stay ahead of industry trends contributing to the growth, development, and maintenance of all ABC Entertainment digital activity. The position will be assigned several Primetime shows, awards shows, and specials. This position reports to the Director of Digital Marketing Strategy & Social Media, and the manager will have a direct report that they will oversee.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead digital marketing strategy and social media presence for assigned shows
  • Foster relationships with internal executives, showrunners, talent reps, media agency partners, and social media platforms
  • Provides overall campaign direction, digital media planning, and feedback to the media agency team for assigned campaigns
  • Manage a direct report as well as external agencies and provide clear direction and feedback in a timely manner
  • Actively examines, interprets, and reports on fan-driven conversations to guide the rest of ABC Entertainment on actionable matters
  • Work with Digital Creative counterparts on custom content creation for all social media platforms throughout the lifecyle of a show
  • Collaboratively manage social editorial calendar to achieve assigned goals in partnership with various business units across the ABC Entertainment and approves all posts
  • Maintains a deep level of understanding on all assigned shows in order to effectively communicate with fans, ABC executives, and show producers
  • Facilitates brainstorming sessions to find unique ways to promote ABC shows
  • Analyzes media performance with the ability to optimize based on data output in partnership with digital media agency
  • Represent digital strategy with traditional marketing counterparts, including on-air, synergy, print teams, partnerships & events, ad sales, and public relations teams to produce 360 marketing campaigns and integrate interactive components into other channels
  • Ideation of content ideas that digital creative team and on-set resources can create

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall working experience in marketing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital media and/or social media with focus on consumer facing media and/or creative production
  • Experience building social media profiles across all platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and others
  • Highly analytical and articulate
  • Passionate about translating a linear product into the digital space
  • Experience working with agencies and vendors
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Advanced copywriting and editing skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with exceptional sense of accountability
  • Expresses written ideas, thoughts, or facts in a clear, convincing, and organized way
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about social media and key platforms and experience with social media scheduling and reporting tools
  • Television and/or entertainment experience preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
