Manager, Process Improvement

Job Summary:

The Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company's direct-to-consumer streaming services – ESPN+, the Disney+ streaming service and its ownership stake in Hulu -- alongside Disney's international media businesses, DMED aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.



The Compensation department leads the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support our U.S. and international clients. This includes designing base salary & incentive plans and alternative rewards programs that are consistent with market conditions, internal equity, a pay for performance philosophy and the company’s business and HR priorities and strategies.



As part of the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) Compensation team, the Process Improvement Manager will bring significant expertise to identify process improvement initiatives across DMED Compensation Teams and Regions. They will propose/solicit alternatives, build consensus and drive improvements forward to completion. Similarly to process improvement, the Manager will seek, propose, develop and implement data integrity solutions. The Manager will aid in policy harmonization and ongoing stewardship. They will collaborate with compensation peers across the Company’s business segments on the implementation of centralized, harmonized, and seamless compensation support for functional organizations that span across all business segments, especially integrated global markets

Responsibilities:

This Manager, Process Improvement will primarily be responsible for supporting multiple, diverse business areas to across DMED in inclusive of support to:
  • Lead the Annual Compensation Planning process for DMED
  • Act as liaison between non-U.S. and U.S. compensation teams to drive shared deliverables to completion.
  • Partner with Compensation leadership to constantly challenge existing processes and tools, ensuring ongoing process and product improvement across the DMED Compensation Function
  • Leverage a strong understanding of the role HRBPs, recruiters, managers, GHRO HR Operations, GHRO HRIS, and other local HR teams within compensation processes/administration to drive well designed process improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of DMED business strategies, the market challenges, and talent needs to support the long term growth of the business via process improvement
  • Effectively partner with segment and enterprise compensation teams on the implementation and support of functional compensation tools and programs across DMED
  • Creatively leverage tools and technology to reduce manual effort
  • Evaluate and document current state processes and policies
  • Assess change impacts and develop change management plans
  • Propose/solicit roles and responsibility definitions
  • Propose and secure buy in for future state process design
  • Act as policy steward for harmonization and documentation
  • Assist in strategy development, creation and delivery of training
  • Assist in strategy development, creation and delivery of communications to stakeholders & end users
  • Assist in strategy development and participate in application testing exercises
  • Ensure regional concerns are addressed
  • Write business requirements to enable solution definition
  • Work on various other data integrity projects in alignment with Enterprise standards, and ensure data consistency is maintained across the Enterprise, in alignment with strategic HR initiatives and analytical reporting requirements
  • Support project management activities such as task management, status reports and stakeholder management

  • Proven advanced experience with one or more of the following: SAP Compensation, ELE, ORG; Workday Compensation, Core HR, Org; Successfactors Compensation; business data intelligence tools
  • Prior experience scaling a solution globally
  • Prior experience working on projects and with common project management methodologies
  • Experience with large data set management
  • 5+ years of related HR experience
