Senior Product Manager/Principal Product Manager, Subscriptions

We are looking for a product management professional to help build out and drive subscriptions of Yahoo Mail Pro. You will own the roadmap prioritization and execution for premium (paid) features, be responsible for driving top of the funnel acquisition and ensuring subscriber retention.

You will work closely with our design, engineering, and leadership team to discover and deliver new and differentiating premium experiences for our Yahoo Mail users. We're looking for candidates with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization, a strong aptitude for idea generation, and the ability to work with the subtleties of experience design, data-driven consumer products and data-driven iteration.

As such, the ideal candidate will exhibit a deep understanding of user experiences, features, design, as well as communications platforms and technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Define the roadmap and priorities for new premium features, monetization integrations and data-driven consumer products
  • Align and energize key stakeholders and team member responsible for the product life cycle
  • Think through every aspect of the user experience across multiple screens, putting users' needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements
  • Lead the full product lifecycle-from ideation, design, requirements definition, through to delivery-collaborating with teams across the organization. Communicate a clear set of consumer needs at all times to drive key trade-offs.
  • Evangelize objectives and requirement across Yahoo to position your product for success and garner any support required to successfully execute on your product
  • Work on a daily basis with the design and front-end engineering teams as well as convey platform needs and functionality


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building subscription products
  • Familiarity with online revenue generation strategies
  • Experience driving growth through a combination of optimizing top-of-funnel subscriber acquisition and improving subscriber retention i.e. reducing churn
  • Experience managing a consumer product or program from the concept stage to launch
  • A strong track record of developing and launching products
  • Discover and validate monetization market problems and opportunities
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with both business and technical teams
  • 2+ years of experience in consumer Web software product management
  • Technical, Design degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, drive detailed trade-offs over the product lifecycle, manage conflict, and articulate the rationale behind decisions
  • Success leading complex projects across a global, cross-functional organization and demonstrated ability as a thought leader for key issues in that environment
  • Experience in online advertising is helpful
