**Location: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to Reston, VA** New Graduate: Federal Associate Consultant (80% travel) | Worldwide Professional Services Organization The Federal Associate Consultant will work with our highly talented and experienced VMware Professional Services Team to deliver creative solutions to our U.S. Federal government customers to help unlock the benefits of our VMware products. In this role, you will use your technical, consultative, communication, and leadership skills to support the successful implementation of VMWare software solutions (Cloud, Mobility, Network/Security) in a variety of industry verticals and customer environments. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the client and other team members on the day-to-day tasks involved with the solution delivery, including, but not limited to: planning, customer assessments, system configuration, testing, training, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution. Role & Responsibilities: Ability to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a VMware Datacenter Virtualization Certification; expectation is that you will possess advanced certifications following the first full year on the job Learn and maintain current knowledge of complete VMware product set and be able to describe key features and benefits of each Ability to install and configure VMWare software, including all relevant 3rd party technical components. Support solution implementation activities including requirements gathering & analysis, design, configuration, testing, and issues resolution, both on-site at the client location and remotely. Support training efforts, including the creation of user documentation and hands-on training exercises, for both operational and technical users. Provide solution feedback to our Product Management team to allow for continuous product improvement based on product experiences. Support Quality Engineering activities, including testing and documentation of software product issues. Ability to establish clear, accurate project timelines and schedules; Monitor progress against plan; build in and execute contingency plans as necessary. Actively troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during implementation. Update and maintain project issues list, which includes prioritization of issues Assist in developing standard, reusable VMware consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates Assist in documenting technical and consultative standard practices for developing and deploying VMware solutions Work as a contributing member of a broad Public Sector consulting team to increase and improve the team’s capabilities, knowledge and expertise Establish positive working relationships – internal and external Required Skills & Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, MIS, Mathematics, or equivalent Ability to travel up to 80% of the time This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and therefore any offer will be contingent upon verification of both of these requirements High interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and a customer-facing environment Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal) Strong analytical skills This job requisition is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsored by VMware.
