New Graduate - Marketing Programs Specialist (May 2022)

By joining the Global Demand Design team, you will have the opportunity to influence high impact demand generation, awareness, and sales acceleration programs and campaigns. You will collaborate with a wide network of stakeholders within the Demand Generation and Field Marketing organization while also engaging external agencies and consultants to ensure the on-going alignment and execution of our go-to-market (GTM) strategy. You will make a significant contribution to our marketing pipeline goals and be counted as a vital contributor to the continued success of VMware’s Networking solutions and products. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? As a part of our team’s commitment to activating and maintaining the Networking Franchise’s GTM strategy, you will: Within 30 days, fully understand our team’s core roles and responsibilities and identify the areas where you will be able to most immediately support our Integrated Marketing Campaign Manager. You will directly engage the Networking Franchise GTM and Content & Messaging teams and support their GTM strategy. You will also work with key Marketing stakeholders in our Demand Execution, Demand Services, and Field Marketing teams to execute Networking programs in market. Within 90 days, you will work with our Integrated Marketing Campaign Manager to oversee our external design agencies in the production and development of key demand generation campaign materials and assets. Within 180 days, you will assume project management responsibilities for our ongoing “Working Sessions” meeting series and provide significant project management support for our half-year Marketing planning cycle. Within 360 days, you will be given “end-to-end” ownership of at least one demand program/campaign with responsibilities that include establishing program objectives and goals, setting campaign KPI’s/success metrics, identifying the target audience, building a complete campaign bill-of-materials (BOM), socializing the GTM plans with a cross-functional set of teams and individuals, monitoring campaign performance to identify areas of optimization, and reporting on campaign results to to key stakeholders. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? As part of your project management responsibilities, maintain and update the key action items, deliverables, owners, and due dates as identified in our ongoing meetings with the Networking Franchise and other teams in the Global Demand and Field Marketing organization. Work with other team members to track all campaign assets and promotional materials that are required to activate and optimize our quarterly demand campaigns. Contribute to our campaign performance reporting, including the development of slides and presentation materials shared with Networking stakeholders. Support budget-planning and tracking across all teams and individuals responsible for executing Networking campaigns and programs. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The hiring manager for this role is Steve Champi, Director, Integrated Marketing, who leads the Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) Demand Design team in the Global Demand and Field Marketing organization. Steve has 20+ years’ experience in B2B marketing in the tech space and he has led integrated marketing teams for VCN since he started at VMware in November 2019. His primary goal as a manager is to build a strong, cohesive, and collaborative team environment that enables each individual to deliver impactful, measurable contributions to Marketing success. You will be joining a small, dedicated team in VCN Demand Design that works intimately with other teams in the Marketing organization, most notably the VCN Franchise, Demand Execution, and Field Marketing teams. Our team members are based in the California Bay Area, but you will regularly engage folks based across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Where is this role located?
