Broker Support/Technician

The Role 

This position is focused on supporting and developing the Major Account Team’s client relationships by providing quality administrative and service support directly to clients and Account Executives and/or Lead Relationship Manager (LRM).

  • Understand the clients’ business and risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service
  • Work closely and maintain working relationships with key market contacts (and the Broking Team) as required
  • Responsible for the delivery of quality documentation in respect of insurance placements
  • Responsible for compliance procedures for total client base
  • Liaise with technical & processing teams in Ipswich and Mumbai
  • Build relationships with Ipswich based Service Team Leaders
  • Liaise with Placement teams as necessary
  • Prepare client packs and carrier documentation, such as marketing packs, request for proposal, stewardship and client feedback reports and renewal documentation, for own clients and, if required, for Account Executive and/or LRM
  • Identify and handover cross selling and referral opportunities to Account Executive and/or LRM
  • Adhere to all group governance and compliance requirements in accordance with the Client Excellence Model
  • Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, problems and key issues
  • Ability to manage relationships and assist in the process of insurance placements with the insurance market
  • Assist in the preparation of client and prospect presentations considering the impact of client profitability
  • Support the placing process
  • Support relationships with underwriters in London and international markets
  • Participate in information gathering exercises.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures.
  • A thorough understanding and an expert real time user for all relevant broking support systems



The Requirements

  • Preferably Certificate of Insurance qualified or working towards the CII qualification
  • Preferably educated to A level standard or relevant industry experience
  • Experienced technician 
  • Familiar with the London insurance market practices
  • Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Preferable experience of use and management of broking systems appropriate to own office (PPL, Eclipse) 
  • Experience in supporting client service 
  • Experience in delivering applicable compliance standards with client service teams
  • Knowledge of the global insurance market
  • Some technical knowledge of insurance policies in areas appropriate to own business unit
