The Role

We are excited to be considering applications for a Lead Associate Broking role within the International Property team. The ideal candidate would already have experience within the International Property arena and will have already commenced developing relationships with London / European Insurers and Reinsurers.
The International Property Team in Willis Towers Watson sits within the Global Markets P&C Hub, which provides a global market response to our clients around the World. You will have the responsibility of handling renewal and new business, liaising with Willis Towers Watson offices around the World and supporting senior members of the team in the production and placement of new business. This is an opportunity for a proactive and dynamic individual to be given responsibility, accountability and the support to further develop their careers and potential.

Broking (Primary Role)
  • To understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, problems and key issues
  • To design programmes, identify appropriate markets and determine placing strategy for smaller clients and assist senior brokers for larger ones
  • Price and design conceptual programmes for clients
  • Participate in information gathering exercises and peer reviews
  • Manage relationships and negotiate placement with the market being both Lloyd’s and London and Europe
  • Gain an understanding into analytics including understanding of primary and secondary modifiers on portfolios and how the absence of those modifiers may affect the resulting Model Sensitivity Analysis with the aim of improving portfolio data
  • Gain an understanding into client wordings and contracts in order to be able to negotiate specific nuances of client coverages
  • Ensure good relationships and communication with other Willis Towers Watson associates
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Willis Towers Watson guidelines and procedures.
Business Development (Support Role)
  • Responsibility for supporting the drive of the sales process and business area practice activity in relation to winning, retaining and developing profitable new clients
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects and accurately maintain the CRM database in order to create and convert sales opportunities
  • Client Relationship Management (Support Role)
  • To understand the clients’ business and risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service
  • Learn to be able to identify analytics as an opportunity to add value to the London process
  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required from both a broking and analytical perspective
  • Liaise with clients and build strong relationships
  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients
Operational and Service Delivery (Support Role)
  • Lead and deliver the end to end ongoing client service, adhering to standardised policies, procedures and service standards
  • Support the BU in accurate budgeting, forecasting and tracking of revenue
  • Communicate effectively with clients, associates, markets and others where appropriate to maximise service delivery levels
  • Manage KPIs/SLAs to ensure targets are met
The Requirements

  • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
  • Experience in Insurance Broking or Underwriting is essential
  • A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Good presentation abilities
  • Excellent market relationships
  • Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
  • Negotiation skills coupled with the ability to be flexible and innovative
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
  • Must be able to forge links with the Willis Retail Network
  • Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues and underwriters
