Configuration/System Analyst (Benefits Access) - Night Shift

The Role 

Be part of an expanding team working on a global employee benefits platform serving almost 100,000 customers across 19 countries – and growing!

As a Benefits Access Configuration Analyst within Health & Benefits Canada, you will be an integral member of the Benefits Marketplace Canada (BMC) team, involved in a number of activities related to building the clients’ benefit store and related processes to support our BMC solution, including the following: 

  • Coordinate with the BMC business analyst, project manager and consulting team on timing, implementations and requirements gathering for the successful implementation of the BMC solution (store and plan design, employee website, employee group eligibility, product rules and rates, funding rules, website branding and build, email content, etc.)
  • Carry out and support unit, integration and user acceptance testing
  • Prepare and provision data and successfully launch projects

Key Activities: 

  • Attend regular project calls and provide updates on the status of your project activities, highlighting and managing risks and issues that could impact the overall success of the project
  • Assess requirements documentation and data to ensure a clear understanding of what is required, questioning and clarifying requirements with internal project team members as needed
  • Provide advice and solutions to internal stakeholders based on your advanced knowledge of system capabilities
  • Design your configuration approach by creating a configuration design document
  • Prepare your configuration activities using the configuration workflow management solution through Jira
  • Accurately complete your configuration activities and maintain the status of your configuration tasks within the workflow management solution on a daily basis
  • Prepare, execute and support unit, integration and user acceptance testing phases, raising and managing bugs in a proactive and timely manner through Jira and Microsoft VSTS
  • Actively participate in the definition of standard configuration being rolled out to the BMC  business, including: 
    • Continue to stay up to speed with system enhancements and newly identified business requirements
    • Identify areas for improvement to evolve standard BMC processes 
    • Ensure existing clients continue to evolve side by side with the above
  • Be curious and self-learn to maintain your knowledge of system capabilities, following regular ongoing product enhancement releases
  • Be creative and share ideas for platform and process improvements
  • Collaborate with global and local teams using tools such as Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Take the initiative as well as being able to accept guidance and instructions from others
  • Support others within the team
     

The Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • At least 2 years’ experience working as a systems analyst; data configuration and basic programming skills (SQL and HTML), and strong analyst background experience in the benefits industry is preferred 
  • Experience working with ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) tools would be beneficial
  • Strong understanding of data and experience with data validation and manipulation using Microsoft Excel
  • Proven experience successfully balancing multiple projects, working with tight deadlines and taking accountability for producing quality deliverables on time and within budget often across multiple, simultaneous projects that may involve different procedures and project team members
  • Experience working on a configurable technology platform desirable.
  • Collaboration with a global team, including taking accountability for quality on-time delivery of work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong problem solving skills in order to analyze data and requirements to find appropriate solutions
  • Confident, self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and creative skills
