Director, De-risking Transactions

Willis Towers Watson"EURTMs Transactions team advises clients on transactions ranging in size from AGBP1m to AGBP16bn. Our team has experience of over 700 transactions, including leading 25 buy-ins and buyouts in 2017 and advising on over half of all longevity hedge deals ever transacted.

We have an increasing demand for individuals to support our continued growth in this market. The candidate will support the delivery of our transactions services with a focus on increasing the volume of de-risking transactions led by Willis Towers Watson.
Working closely with the relevant market and Line of Business leaders within Willis Towers Watson"EURTMs retirement and investment advisory teams the candidate will be responsible for delivery of bulk annuity transactions. Building relationships across our clients and target market organisations will be key, along with raising the profile of Willis Towers Watson in this area.

The Role
  • Developing business predominantly from our existing client base. 
  • Implementing longevity hedging transactions (buy-ins, buyouts and longevity swaps)
  • Initiating and participating in a client"EURTMs overall risk management planning
  • Ensuring an efficient and customer centric delivery of de-risking projects
  • Organising relevant sales campaigns and marketing efforts around longevity hedging
  • Developing relationships at all levels across Willis Towers Watson, clients and market participants
  • Working collaboratively within the team of transactions specialists in order to ensure project delivery at all times

The Requirements
  • Actuarial background or similar technical experience
  • Experience of delivery of successfully completed bulk annuity transactions 
  • Credible in front of clients with a track record of delivering major bulk annuity transactions
  • Understanding of bulk annuities from a negotiation, contracting and delivery perspective
  • Understanding of the tender, pricing and installation processes for bulk annuity transactions
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the client-facing environment
  • Possesses an interest in longevity risk 
  • Credibility with the bulk annuity providers
