The Role

Broking and Business Development (Primary Role)
  • Act as the primary contact and advisor for colleagues and clients and proactively generate ideas/solutions to meet client needs
  • Work with Head of North American Property and Hub leaders to drive growth strategies
  • Work with the Global Property Team to develop client solutions
  • Negotiate responsive programs for key clients
  • Have an understanding into analytics including understanding of primary and secondary modifiers on portfolios and how the absence of those modifiers may affect the resulting Model Sensitivity Analysis with the aim of improving portfolio data
  • Key leader in the development of younger team members to aid in the design of programmes, identification of appropriate markets and determination of placing strategy
  • Identify and close potential cross-sell opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects and accurately maintain the CRM database in order to create and convert sales opportunities
  • Responsibility for supporting the drive of the sales process and business area practice activity in relation to winning, retaining and developing profitable new clients
  • Provide prompt and professional customer service
  • Maintain extensive market relationships

Client Relationship Management (Support Role)
  • To understand the clients’ business and risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service
  • Learn to be able to identify analytics as an opportunity to add value to the London process
  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required from both a broking and analytical perspective
  • Liaise with clients and build strong relationships
  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients
  • Grow existing portfolio by identifying new new, and/or existing opportunities
Operational and Service Delivery (Support Role)
  • Lead and deliver the end to end ongoing client service, adhering to standardised policies, procedures and service standards
  • Support the BU in accurate budgeting, forecasting and tracking of revenue
  • Deliver high levels of client service in line with standard operating procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clients, associates, markets and others where appropriate to maximise service delivery levels
  • Manage KPIs/SLAs to ensure targets are met
The Requirements 

  • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
  • A proven track record in Global Insurance Broking or Underwriting is essential
  • A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Good presentation abilities
  • Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
  • Negotiation skills coupled with the ability to be flexible and innovative
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
  • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
  • Must be able to forge links with the Willis Towers Watson Network
  • Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues and underwriters
  • Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, complying at all times with FCA requirements.
