Health & Benefits Producer - Boston

We are currently seeking a Producer in the Buffalo market to join a high-caliber Human Capital Practice- Employee Benefits team focused on winning new clients, and retaining and cross-selling to existing clients. Willis Towers Watson Producers aggressively develop and manage an active pipeline and nurture and close sales opportunities. The majority of activity in this role is directed toward generating new sales to existing and prospective clients.

The Role

  • Driving new business generation and managing the client relationship life-cycle from lead generation through proposal and closing to post-sales servicing
  • Works closely with Health & Benefits Practice Leader to set and achieve sales goals, and with the Director of Operations and/or client service team members to ensure the delivery of superior service
  • $250,000 in new business revenue generation annually and minimum of one new appointment per week
  • Identifying and qualifying Middle Market and Large Account prospects for business from existing and potential clients
  • Maintaining a consistently strong and active new business pipeline in line with office, region, and company goals
  • Developing new and maintaining existing relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions at prospective clients
  • Aggressively identifying and pursuing cross-selling opportunities amongst existing clients
  • Actively participate in and take leadership roles in targeted industry/niche associations
  • Designing individual prospect sales strategies and developing unique prospect programs through innovative channels
  • Preparing compelling proposals and presentations by collaborating with Willis Towers Watson Producers and industry specialists and other Willis Towers Watson Associates, and driving and authoritatively participating in presentations
  • Understanding the Willis Towers Watson value proposition for each opportunity and aligning the firm"EURTMs resources and expertise with individual client sales strategies
  • Providing proactive risk management advise to existing clients on potential exposures and regularly suggest ways to positively impact the client"EURTMs bottom line, including resolving client issues before they become "EURoeproblems"EUR
  • Actively support the client management team in renewal process, including participating in 120-day meetings and reviewing and providing feedback on renewal strategy
  • Championing the proper advocacy of claims
  • Participating in and leading Client Advocacy Report (i.e., stewardship) meetings
  • Contributing to the performance management and career development of team members
  • Helping to identify and develop future producer talent
The Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years employee benefits experience, most of it in a sales role in an employee benefits brokerage/consulting firm, insurance carrier, or TPA
  • Proven track record of successfully developing a pipeline, delivering effective sales strategies and a reputation as a client-centric sales professional
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of employee benefit, wellness, consumer-driven healthcare and disease management principles and methods of selling products including CDHP, HMO, PPO, & Indemnity forms of Health, Dental, Vision, Life (term, permanent, etc.), LTD, STD, & state-required disability plans
  • Demonstrable evidence of track record of success in composing services and value propositions; sales marketing strategies and tactics; technical knowledge of insurance and risk management products, services, and value propositions; pipeline management; and cross-selling
  • Ability to identify and leverage essential information and think in a critical and logical manner
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment where initiative and self-motivation are required, as is the ability to work in a client-centric strategic and decisive manner according to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to manage, direct and inspire others
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and oral) skills and interpersonal skills essential
  • Ability and desire to work in a company with a strong corporate culture and varied personalities
  • Proficiency in the use of company-sanctioned software, including core knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as the navigation of the Internet
  • Ability to travel (15-20%) required
  • Bachelor"EURTMs degree preferred
  • Valid State-relevant Insurance license(s)
  • Advanced Insurance certification "EUR" i.e. CEBS, ARM, CIC, CRM, CPCU "EUR" highly desirable and advantageous
