
International Health and Risk Solutions Consultant
Summary of Role
The role calls for an experienced consultant and account manager able
to drive the IHRS business unit’s revenue efforts. Working closely with other IHRS Account
managers, the candidate will be responsible for helping to grow and develop our portfolio of
clients. A key element will be the building of relationships with internal colleagues who have
client facing responsibilities, to develop and raise the awareness and profile of IHRS across the
whole Willis Towers Watson community.
As a leader within the team the role will also have a degree of team mentoring and development however at this time no direct people management responsibilities.
Specifically the role is a London based position as this is where the bulk of client opportunities will emerge from, it is within our International Health and Risk team, a fast growing group who work on behalf of our clients, securing and placing employee benefit coverages with carriers and providers who offer products in this unique market segment.

The Requirements
Client Focus
- Develop and manage a group of existing WTW and new to WTW clients and prospects;
- Manage prospects through the sales process from discovery to contractual agreements;
- Research prospects’ business, buying habits, competitive landscape and leverage that data/insights to inform business planning and creation of a key target list for Willis Towers Watson
- Develop client/prospect account plans/strategies and drive execution of action plans
Excellence
- Promote and model the principles of effective business development and client management throughout the company;
- Develop a broad understanding of the Health and Benefits space and WTW’s key propositions and differentiators;
- Develop broad understanding of Willis Towers Watson’s services and products;
- Understand and stay current on client’s business situation, strategy and HR, risk, and finance needs;
- Understand the legal and compliance framework within which the business operates;
- Ability to articulate well both verbally and in written communications the overall Willis Towers Watson proposition and specifically the features and benefits of our products and service;
Finance
- Accurately record pipeline and sales activity on CRM
- Achieve or exceed targets for new business and revenue
- Oversee procurement and contract/commercial terms negotiations
- Ensure that client/prospect relationships are secure and financially sound, and that all parties have a clear understanding of Willis Towers Watson financial arrangements, policies and procedures.
Collaboration
- Work with other account managers and client teams to develop selling and relationship management skills to maximise our success rate
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience of consulting to multinational corporations and global organisations in the; International Employee Benefit space
- Successful track record in advising and communicating appropriate solutions to senior stakeholders
- Expert level understanding of international private medical and risk solutions and the various risk financing mechanisms supporting insurance placements in these segments;
- Ability to identify and develop a ‘target list’ of prospective clients;
- Ability to identify and nurture a requirement with clients for our services and products;
- Ability to communicate at all levels both externally and internally;
- An existing market presence with strong influencing skills with carriers is preferred;
- Fluent in English. Additional languages are desirable but not essential
