 Senior Valuation Analyst - Lisbon

The Role
The LSC was established in 2008 to initially perform UK pension scheme valuations, a process that provides our clients with an assessment of the financial health of their pension schemes. It is now expanding its scope to include other services related to UK pension schemes as well as other European countries.

This role provides you with the opportunity to contribute to the LSC focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence making suggestions of improvement across the different areas, project managing and mentoring more junior colleagues. This role also enables you to enhance your industry knowledge by working on different pension schemes, checking large complex client data, addressing questions, resolving issues and checking client deliverables.

It is expected that you will be able to work with some degree independence once training is concluded and to quickly become independent on the role being performed.


Work as part of a team to deliver actuarial and other services related to pensions schemes.
Use our software to set up schemes that are processed at the LSC, with an analysis against what was done at the previous valuation.
Perform checks on valuation data and software output.
Through training and continuous development, become proficient in the use of valuation tools and processes.
Communicate with internal clients via telephone and email. Monitor own workflow to ensure service levels are achieved.
Develop technical knowledge of UK and other European benefit schemes.
Help to provide an efficient, professional service to meet client needs and to promote the Willis Towers Watson brandThe Requirements
  • 5-7 years"EURTM related work experience.
  • University degree, background in mathematics or engineering preferred.
  • Good analytical and technical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way.
  • Sense of accountability, owning one"EURTMs work and taking pride in it
  • Well organised and detail oriented with ability to prioritise and delegate tasks.
  • Experience in reviewing the work of others.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player with collaborative behaviour.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and the ability learn how to use our in-house software packages.
  • Ability to ask the right questions and seek help where appropriate.
  • Strong interest to develop specialist technical and project management skills.
